FFXIV Bard Perform Requirements and 4.15 Update Create Original Music
Bard is a job that specializes in buffing their allies with songs and other enchantments. Using bow in combat, Bard improves upon the archer class through the addition of group buffs. Bard is a job that is easy to pick up, yet difficult to master. With unparalleled utility and versatility, they are incredibly desirable as a member of any party. Players must first complete the bard job quest "A Song of Bards and Bowmen."
The core defining feature of bards; each song has a unique effect, and one should always be up while in combat. All songs provide a 2% critical hit rate buff to allies in range. The songs trigger a special effect when either of your DoTs crit or when you use Empyreal Arrow.
In terms of late game armor and accessories, Archers and Bards wear "Aiming" gear sets, which tend to be more flamboyant than other DPS classes. While the armor are exclusive to this class, the Aiming accessories are shared with Rogues and Ninjas.
FFXIV 4.15 Update: Performance Actions have been added, allowing players to create music using the bard job.
Performance actions can be registered to your hotbar via the Performance tab of the Actions & Traits interface. Each action corresponds to one musical note. Use them in combination to create original music.
When using the performance actions, you are strictly prohibited from performing the music of any third parties.
